We had our own celebration at a friends' house. Our lovely moderator was there... I told her she should write down the recipes because mannnnn, we feasted! I don't have recipes, but just to tantalize your tastebuds, here's what was on our 4/20 menu in the Seattle family:
* Creamy Potato Leek soup w/ Hemp Milk (mmmmmm... warm creamy vegan soup)
* Organic Nachos!!! With spicy black beans and sharp Cheddar
* The most delicious salad ever, with pretty much everything in the kitchen thrown in- pears, candied walnuts, a little cheese, cucumbers, shallots, homemade croutons and who knows what else... topped off with the most delicious dressing ever- pure love juice made from organic strawberries, olive oil, balsamic vinagrette, fresh garlic, salt and pepper, a little honey and a splash of (this is the secret ingredient) ROSEWATER!!! We were eating the dressing by the spoonful the next day and decided it was actually strawberry soup...
* Ooey gooey chocolate brownies
* Lavender Ice Cream (ohhhh you must try this if you come across it)
Yummmm... munchies. I love munchy feasts with good family! Hope your holiday was equally as scrumptious!!!

Thu, May 1, 2008 - 12:52 AMCreamed potato leek soup is awesome even if you don't add any magical ingredients.
The rose water is a great touch - I'll try to remember it!
Thank you! -

Re: What did YOU eat on 4/20?
Thu, May 1, 2008 - 11:44 AMi've never heard of anyone adding magical ingredients to Potato Leek soup.
Were you referring to the Hemp Milk?
cuz that's not so magical...i mean, it IS heavenly....but it's not stoney. You can buy it in cartons now. -

Re: What did YOU eat on 4/20?
Fri, May 2, 2008 - 1:17 AMOk, I googled it. I was thinking of something else.
The 'hemp milk' I was remembering was probably a recipe for bhang.
And I'm pretty sure it does have magical properties. -

Re: What did YOU eat on 4/20?
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 9:08 PMyeah, that's one hell of a signature.
i forgot that i was going to mention that i cured Fibromyalgia by changing my diet dramatically. Timothy, i suggest removing all processed foods from your diet--that means anything with an ingredient list, including cured meats, chips, marshmallows, etc.--for at least 2 weeks. Then see how you feel.
But then, if you didn't have Fibromyalgia, how would you get your prescription filled?

by the way, the deleted post above was because of a typo i made that led to a confusing sentence, and not any form of censorship. -

Re: What did YOU eat on 4/20?
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 1:34 PMHappy Cinco de Mayo. I recently made a cake, that I added a bunch of ingredience to, it was a basic white cake mix to start with and this is what I added: both lemon and almond extract from the cupboard (not my kitchen actually, you wouldn't find those in mine) with fresh grapes, fresh chopped apple, raisins and previously frozen mango chunks. I also added powdered ginger, cinnamon and a little cardamom too. Then I made the mistake of putting frosting and sprinkles on it. Which were okay to start with, but not so good for freezing or long term storage, but it's easily scraped off. -
