just follow the directions on any box of rice krispies - any literate stoner can make them. but here are some of my favorite tips and tricks:
--the part about melting the butter and marshmallows goes pretty fast, and then it cools down pretty quickly. i recommend measuring-out the 6 cups of kice krispies (plus any additional ingredients) first, so you can just dump it all in the marshmallow mixture when the time is right.
--add pumpkin seeds and currants to one batch.
--add chocolate chips and chopped walnuts to another batch (the chocolate will melt as you mix it - don't freak out!)
--add some chunky peanut butter to the marshmallow mixture on the 3rd batch
--cut them all up and put them in some airtight storage containers, and take them camping for the weekend, and pass them out to anyone who trusts you enough to eat them.
--this recipe may not be suitable for folks with fibromyalgia.

Thu, June 12, 2008 - 4:20 PMoh. i think it's a carry-over from another thread - something about preservatives and non-all-natural ingredients? probably get a lot of those in both rice krispies, and marshmallows. there very well may be all-natural analogs to the regular brand names.

Wed, May 14, 2008 - 10:46 AMyummmmmm... so where were you with your magic box of rice krispy treats this weekend, hmmmmmm? Oh the pumpkin seed and currant variation just sounds so delish. Is that where the krunch in your name comes from, hmmm? -

Tue, May 20, 2008 - 8:38 PMi think the marsh component of the mallow triggers the urge to get up out of bed and grab one.

Thu, June 12, 2008 - 4:22 PMright place, right time, baby!
ooh - rice krispy jello squares?! it's worth experimenting...maybe using some jello powder in the marshmallow mixture, for additional fruity flavor and color?
origin of the krunch? i don't know...shards of glass? -

Re: it's hip to be rice krispy squares
Sun, June 22, 2008 - 1:05 AMi think you could TOTALLY embed rice krispies in jello squares for jellokrunch.
And check this out--i just noticed that Trader Joes has all-natural (whatever that means...) vanilla marshmallows. They are cut into squares and look like your grandma made 'em. They are even made with kosher gelatin so i think that might make them vegan. I almost bought some for the kids but i'm going to wait until we go camping. They even seem like they would fit on a graham cracker better than a big pillowy cylinder-shaped marshmallow.
